Here is a rough breakdown of my 2003 budget followed by detailed transport costs and a list of the lodgings I used. In 2003 I travelled 24 000 kilometres to visit 14 countries in 107 days at a total cost of 5 300 $US (50 $/day).

On this trip, I spent 107 nights in 44 different hotels at an overall average cost of 10.00 $US (not counting the 5 nights passed in transit transport or in the homes of friends). I have tried to give you an idea of what to expect of each place in terms of value for your money. An equal sign means an average value for a given price compared to other lodgings in the same country. A " + " sign means more value for your money than the average in that country and a " - " sign means less. |
