Baghdad

This is the hotel where our team stayed. I could not remember       its name but Stan Howe from Aberdeen who knew it well, e-mailed me in 2005 that it was the Baghdad Hotel.

Neither do I remember the name of this mosque.

Below left, two other members of the team in the Baghdad bazaar.

Below right, I never miss visiting museums when I can. The Baghdad Museum was very interesting but I would have loved to have enough time to visit all the other fine Museums in Baghdad.

The Baghdad Museum had a rich collection of Sumerian, Babylonian and Assyrian items but I was particularly interested in the oil lamp collection to help me identify some of the lamps in my own collection. An understanding museum guard let me take pictures when I told him that I was a collector myself. Here are some of them.
